Earlier in her career, she began hosting workshops teaching film to youth in underserved communities. She also excelled as a worldwide image producer at Apple, contributing to localized video animations, and as an Associate Producer for Google's Daydream team, exploring virtual and augmented reality content.
Shaveela's versatile background extends to technology, focusing on creating digital content and products for the Ed tech sector. Her startup, LeapForLearning.net, exemplifies this commitment, providing accessible and impactful educational resources in multiple language. Shaveela believes in the power of education to change lives. She is always looking for new ways to engage students and is now bringing excitement to learners through her animated educational content in the LeapForLearning book series.
Advisor, Maia Gallo, has a Master's Degree in Education, is a Certified Connection Practice Trainer and yoga practitioner. As an Early Childhood Educator and Democratic School Staff Member, she believes strongly in children's rights to enjoy freedom and play while receiving loving care, respect and individualized support. Throughout her years as a parent, teacher and mentor, Maia has picked up many useful childcare and life skills. She feels privileged to have been introduced to these tools and is excited to share them with other Caregivers through the LeapForLearning book series.
Advisor, TaJa Evans, is a multifaceted professional with a Bachelor’s degree in ASL interpretation, a Master’s degree in Deaf Education, and certification as a Deaf-Blind intervenor. Her extensive qualifications include roles as a dedicated Deaf education teacher and consultant for Deaf-blind individuals. TaJa's passion for music enriches her advisory work, enabling her to forge deep connections with students and fostering emotional expression. Her commitment to inclusivity aligns seamlessly with LeapForLearning's mission to empower Deaf and Hard of Hearing scholars while promoting awareness of Deaf culture and American Sign Language.
Advisor, Salli Clavelle, our Sports and Community advisor at LeapForLearning, shattered NFL barriers as the first Black female scout with the San Francisco 49ers. Raised in New Orleans, LA, she earned both her Bachelor’s and Masters degrees at Sam Houston State before returning to her hometown to undertake an unpaid internship at Tulane University. Her journey from adversity to success serves as an inspirational backdrop to her work, passionately inspiring young girls to break barriers and offering invaluable guidance to our scholars in their pursuit of education and community engagement goals. As of 2023, she has continued her remarkable career with the Minnesota Vikings as a Pro Scout, further cementing her legacy in the NFL.
